  • Dating someone with commitment issues

we've all been there. I wanna know how you guys handled the situation. I need some insight

  • #2
From experience, it's was very difficult. Bad experiences make people put their guard on. It took a lot of time and effort for me back then but let me tell you it was well worth it

Yes, it is better to try and find the silver lining of things

Cupcakesi you're right. Moping and feeling bad for yourself is not good for your own well being. Might as well try and be more positive, right?

Yes, that's better than putting all the weight on your shoulders.

If it has been a couple of dates already, maybe it is just time to ask what is the status of your relationship. Don't think it's bad to ask if he wants something serious or he just enjoys fooling around with you

This is reasonable enough, because relationship issue is not visible on first few dates.

Have you dated someone who has commitment issues?

  • #4
If you think that he has some commitment issues, it would be better to just end it with him. You'll just end up getting hurt because of it in the long run

PieFlavor the optimistic type then, I wonder what optimistic people feel if a person has disappointed them countless of times

BigDaddy69 we would be pissed off at that person as well. Just because a person is optimistic it doesn't automatically mean that we don't have a breaking point

I know that you would eventually reach that point, but how many times does it have to happen to you before you reach that?

The worst part is both of ya'll have commitment issues. It's hard to do something when all you're doing is doubting his every move,

HoneyConey I feel like that's even worse, you can't really enjoy sex with a bunch of issues.

I ended it and told him that I don't want to be with someone who's afraid of commitment

Why would you try and be in a serious relationship with someone who's not into that sort of thing?

Yes, there are some relationship issues that can be hidden, but if you know that the guy that you're seeing has one from the get go, then you should even try to make things serious with him

Try and ask him what he's reasons behind it. If its something that I think that I can't handle then, I would just leave him already

Does that mean you would stay with him if he's reason is good enough for you?

  • #11
If I knew from the start that he has commitment issues, then I would just do it for the sex then. Will make sure that it would be purely physical only

I had this hook up relationship before, the longer we've been together the more I get attached to him. So told him and he said he is not just into commitment so we decided to just cut it off. maybe the right time for us.

I handled it through breaking up with him. I was in the stage of my life where I wanted to be serious but we're not in the same page, so i'd cut it off.

I think most people who have been with someone who has commitment issues usually ends with a break up. Because this one is a personal issue they should be handling by themselves.

I think that's because people who have relationship issues are hard to handle.
